University Study System

credit hours system

1- The university follows the credit hours system. The credit hours mean the student's time at the university for one theoretical hour per week or the equivalent of the number of hours approved for a specific course over a full semester (16) weeks.

(For example, a physics course is taught two theoretical hours and two practical hours (labs) weekly for 16 hours

The number of credit hours for a physics course is three credit hours, because every two hours is equivalent to one credit hour. If the course is theoretical (ie, it does not have practical hours) such as Arabic, the number of theoretical hours per week equals the number of credit hours. Students must complete the total number of credit hours in Table 2 until they graduate.

2- The minimum number of credit hours that a student can register in the first or second semester is 12 hours and the maximum is 18 hours. The student may take an additional three hours if the average of the previous semester is not less than 80%. In the summer semester (registration is optional), the maximum number of hours for students to register is 9 credit hours.

3- The following table shows the number of credit hours that students must complete until they graduate from the university and the number of years of study in each college:

The student has the right to restore the course fee which he has withdrawn in full if this course is withdrawn during the first week (the week of deletion and addition), after which the fees will be deducted according to the financial regulations determined by the university.
